The RE/MAX Northern Illinois network remained the market share leader in the Northwest Suburbs market area during 2007. RE/MAX agents listed 27.2 percent of all homes sold in the area based on sales data available through the Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois (MLSNI).
Home sales reported by the MLSNI totaled 9,066 in the Northwest Suburbs during 2007, a decrease of 24.2 percent from the 11,967 homes sold during the prior year.
The Northwest Suburbs market area includes the communities of Arlington Heights, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Keeneyville, Mt. Prospect, Niles, Palatine, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, Streamwood and Wheeling.
The top five real estate organizations in the Northwest Suburbs during 2007, in terms of sold listings, were RE/MAX with 2,464 (27.2 percent), Coldwell Banker with 1,316 (14.5 percent), Century 21 with 949 (10.5 percent), Baird & Warner with 616 (6.8 percent) and Starck & Company with 330 (3.6 percent). Data maintained by the MLSNI may not reflect all real estate activity in a specific market area.
RE/MAX also led the Northwest Suburbs market in homes purchased. In 2007, RE/MAX agents represented buyers who purchased 21.2 percent of all listed homes sold in the area, topping Coldwell Banker (12.1 percent), Century 21 (10.6), Baird & Warner (6.4 percent) and Starck & Company (3 percent).
