The RE/MAX Northern Illinois remained the market share leader in the West Towns home sales market area during 2007. RE/MAX agents listed 23.5 percent of all homes sold in the area based on sales data available through the Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois (MLSNI).
Home sales reported by the MLSNI totaled 2,666 in the West Towns area during 2007, a decrease of 27.3 percent from the 3,666 homes sold during the prior year.
The West Towns market area includes the communities of Berwyn, Broadview, Brookfield, Cicero, Forest Park, Forest View, Lyons, North Riverside, Oak Park, River Forest, Riverside, Stickney and Westchester.
The top five real estate organizations in the West Towns market during 2007, in terms of sold listings, were RE/MAX with 627 (23.5 percent), F.C. Pilgrim & Co. with 205 (7.7 percent), Coldwell Banker with 181 (6.8 percent), Century 21 with 170 (6.4 percent) and Baird & Warner with 168 (6.3 percent). Data maintained by the MLSNI may not reflect all real estate activity in a specific market area.
RE/MAX also led the West Towns market in homes purchased. In 2007, RE/MAX agents represented buyers who purchased 16.3 percent of all listed homes sold in the area, topping Coldwell Banker (7.8 percent), Century 21 (7.2 percent), Baird & Warner (6.5 percent) and F.C. Pilgrim & Co. (6 percent).
