The students at Our Lady of the Snow School, 4810 S. Leamington Ave., and St. Pascal School, 6143 W. Irving Park Road, will get an exciting introduction to hot air ballooning when the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon and its crew visit the schools on March 27. The visits are part of an on-going interactive educational program developed by RE/MAX, the Chicago real estate leader.
The students and staff at both schools will learn about various aspects of ballooning, including its history, the scientific principles involved and a demonstration on how the balloon functions. The program at Our Lady of the Snow will be presented at 8:20 a.m. outdoors on the school grounds if weather permits, and the 75-foot-tall balloon envelope will be fully inflated.
Otherwise, the program will be moved indoors to the gymnasium where the balloon envelope will be partially inflated with cold air so that students can walk inside it as part of the educational presentation.
Indoor programs at St. Pascal are scheduled for 1 and 2 p.m. in the school gymnasium
RE/MAX Northern Illinois is sponsoring both the event.
