RE/MAX Names Top 10 Agents And Teams In Commercial Sales For First Half Of 2009

Leaders in Northern Illinois Real Estate Market

Dave Shalabi of RE/MAX TEAM 2000, Orland Park, Ill., and Basel Tarabein of RE/MAX At Home, Rolling Meadows, Ill., topped the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network in the sale of commercial properties during the first half of 2009.

Tarabein led the top ranked sales team, while Shalabi was the leader among individual agents. It was the first time either of the two agents reached the No. 1 ranking. Individual agents are the sole licensed contributors to their sales production, while a team involves the combined efforts of two or more licensed agents. Rankings are based on commissions earned.

The dominant office group in commercial sales for the period was RE/MAX TEAM 2000 of Orland Park and Palos Heights, which has two individual agents and four teams in the Top 10 rankings.

“RE/MAX agents are expanding their presence in the commercial real estate marketplace, and those who rank in our Top 10 have been major contributors to that result,” said Jim Merrion, regional director of the RE/MAX network in northern Illinois. “Whether their focus is on all types of commercial property or a specific segment, such as vacant land, retail, industrial, office or hospitality properties, we are proud of their achievements in the current market environment, which is exceptionally challenging.”
