RE/MAX Retains Top Spot In West Towns Area Home Sales In 2008, Closing More Than 700 Transactions

RE/MAX Network Again Tops Metro Chicago Real Estate Market

RE/MAX agents once again led the West Towns area residential real estate market during 2008, closing 712 transactions. RE/MAX agents listed 21.1 percent of the 1,873 homes sold in the area and represented home buyers in 316 purchases. Those totals are based on sales data available through Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC (MRED). Since 1989, RE/MAX has ranked number one in the metropolitan Chicago real estate market based on residential listings sold.

“In a challenging environment for Illinois real estate sales, RE/MAX agents continue to demonstrate their skills and commitment,” said Jim Merrion, regional director of the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network.

The West Towns market area includes the communities of Berwyn, Broadview, Brookfield, Cicero, Forest Park, Forest View, Lyons, North Riverside, Oak Park, River Forest, Riverside, Stickney and Westchester.

Home sales reported by MRED in the West Towns area during 2008 totaled 1,873, a 29.7 percent decrease from the 2,666 homes sold in 2007.

The top five real estate organizations in the West Towns area during 2008, in terms of listings sold, were RE/MAX with 396 (21.1 percent), Baird & Warner with 153 (8.2 percent), Coldwell Banker with 148 (7.9 percent), F.C. Pilgrim & Company with 105 (5.6 percent) and Century 21 with 85 (4.5 percent). Data maintained by MRED may not reflect all real estate activity in a specific market area.

RE/MAX agents increased their leadership in buyer representation in the West Towns area during 2008, completing 16.9 percent of all buyer transactions, up from 16.3 percent in 2007. Following RE/MAX in this category were Coldwell Banker (8.5 percent), Baird & Warner (7.5), Century 21 (5.9 percent) and Prudential (4.8 percent). RE/MAX remained the market-share leader in buyer representation across the metropolitan Chicago real estate market during 2008, completing 16.4 percent of all buyer transactions.

RE/MAX Expands Its Leadership In O’hare Area, Closing Nearly 300 Home Sales Transactions In 2008

RE/MAX Network Again Tops Metro Chicago Real Estate Market

RE/MAX agents increased their leadership position in the O’Hare area residential real estate market during 2008, representing either the buyer or seller in 273 home sale transactions, according to sales data available for the O’Hare area through Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC (MRED). Since 1989, RE/MAX has ranked number one in the metropolitan Chicago real estate market based on residential listings sold.

“In a challenging environment for Illinois real estate sales, RE/MAX agents continue to demonstrate their skills and commitment,” said Jim Merrion, regional director of the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network.

RE/MAX agents listed 161, or 27.2 percent, of all residential properties sold in the O’Hare area during 2008, up from 26.5 percent in 2007. They also led in buyer representation, assisting buyers with 112 transactions, or 18.9 percent.

Home sales reported by MRED in the O’Hare area during 2008 totaled 592, a 25 percent decrease from the 789 homes sold in 2007.

The O’Hare market area includes the communities of Elmwood Park, Franklin Park, Harwood Heights, Leyden Township, Norridge, Northlake, River Grove, Rosemont and Schiller Park.

The top five real estate organizations in the O’Hare area during 2008, in terms of listings sold, were RE/MAX with 161 (27.2 percent), Century 21 with 68 (11.5 percent), Coldwell Banker with 64 (10.8 percent), Sergio & Banks with 37 (6.3 percent) and Realty World and Prudential, both with 19 (3.2 percent). At the same time, RE/MAX agents led the O’Hare area in buyer representation, closing 18.9 percent of all sales made of listed homes in 2008, topping Century 21 (16.6 percent), Coldwell Banker (7.4 percent), Prudential (3.7 percent) and ERA (3.4. percent). RE/MAX remained the market-share leader in buyer representation across the metropolitan Chicago real estate market during 2008, completing 16.4 percent of all buyer transactions.

The LaGrange market area includes the communities of Countryside, Hodgkins, Indian Head Park, LaGrange, LaGrange Highlands, LaGrange Park, McCook, Western Springs and Willow Springs.

Home sales reported by MRED in the LaGrange area during 2008 totaled 510, a 25.7 percent decrease from the 686 homes sold in 2007.

RE/MAX agents increased their leadership position in the Northwest Suburbs residential real estate market during 2008, representing either the buyer or seller in 3,329 home sale transactions, according to sales data available for the Northwest Suburbs through Midwest Real Estate Data, LLC (MRED). Since 1989, RE/MAX has ranked number one in the metropolitan Chicago real estate market based on residential listings sold.

“In a challenging environment for Illinois real estate sales, RE/MAX agents continue to demonstrate their skills and commitment,” said Jim Merrion, regional director of the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network.

RE/MAX agents listed 1,793, or 27.7 percent, of all residential properties sold in the Northwest Suburbs during 2008, up from 27.2 percent in 2007. They also expanded their lead in buyer representation, assisting buyers with 1,536 transactions, or 23.7 percent, compared to 21.2 percent in the prior year.

Home sales reported by MRED in the Northwest Suburbs during 2008 totaled 6,479, a 28.5 percent decrease from the 9,066 homes sold in 2007.

The Northwest Suburbs market area includes the communities of Arlington Heights, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Keeneyville, Mt. Prospect, Niles, Palatine, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, Streamwood and Wheeling.

The top five real estate organizations in the Northwest Suburbs during 2008, in terms of listings sold, were RE/MAX with 1,793 (27.7 percent), Coldwell Banker with 1,042 (16.1 percent), Century 21 with 578 (8.9 percent), Prudential with 445 (6.9 percent) and Baird & Warner with 414 (6.4 percent). The top five real estate organizations in the Southwest Suburbs during 2008, in terms of listings sold, were RE/MAX with 967 (29.1 percent), Coldwell Banker with 458 (13.8 percent), Century 21 with 329 (9.9 percent), Realty Executives with 184 (5.5 percent) and Prudential with 96 (2.9 percent). RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon Visits Students at Immaculate Conception in Chicago

Students at Immaculate Conception School, 7236 W. Talcott Ave., Chicago, lined up in the school gymnasium for an opportunity to walk inside the envelope of the RE/MAX hot air balloon, which visited the school on January 27. RE/MAX the Chicago real estate and Illinois real estate leader, takes the 75-foot hot air balloon to a variety of Chicago and northern Illinois schools annually to teach students about the science and history behind hot air balloons.


RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon Visits Students at St. Bellarmine in Chicago

Bill Baker, pilot of the northern Illinois RE/MAX hot air balloon, explained the science and history of ballooning to students at St. Robert Bellarmine, 6036 W. Eastwood Ave., Chicago, when the balloon visited the school on January 27. The visit was part of a special educational program developed by RE/MAX, the Chicago real estate and Illinois real estate leader.
