The students at Henry Clissold School, 2350 W. 110th Pl. on Chicago’s South Side, watched on April 2 as Bill Baker, pilot of the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon, explained how to control the two burners suspended above the balloon basket. The burners create the hot air that makes the balloon rise. The purpose of the visit by the RE/MAX balloon and its crew was to offer students a special program about the history and science of ballooning. The program was developed and the event sponsored by the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network.
