RE/MAX Balloon To Visit At Schools In Chicago Real Estate Neighborhoods Of Ashburn And Auburn Gresham

The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon and its crew will visit schools in the Ashburn and Auburn Gresham neighborhoods on Chicago’s South Side in mid-April to present an interactive educational program developed and sponsored by the RE/MAX metro Chicago real estate network.

The program will be presented at Charles Gates Dawes Elementary School, 3810 W 81st Pl., in Ashburn on April 15 and Garrett Morgan Elementary School, 8407 S. Kerfoot Ave., in Auburn Gresham on April 16. The RE/MAX balloon will visit more than 40 schools this spring in northern Illinois.

The students at both schools will learn about various aspects of ballooning, including its history and the scientific principles involved, and they will see a demonstration on how the balloon functions. At Dawes School, which has 1,200 students, the program will be offered four times starting at 9 a.m. At Morgan, which as 310 students, it will be offered 12:15 p.m.

At both schools, the presentation will begin in the gymnasium, where the 75-foot-tall balloon envelope will be inflated with cold air, permitting students to walk inside it. Activities then move outdoors for a demonstration of how the balloon basket and burners operate.
