RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon Will Make Educational Visits To Schools In The Chicago Real Estate Neighborhoods Of Beverly And Morgan Park

Students at St. Margaret of Scotland Elementary School, 9833 S. Throop St. in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood and John Whistler Elementary School, 11533 S. Ada St., in Morgan Park, will receive visits from the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon in April. At the schools, the balloon crew will present an interactive educational program developed and sponsored by the RE/MAX metro Chicago real estate network.

Students at the two schools will learn about various aspects of ballooning, including its history and the scientific principles involved, and they will see a demonstration on how the balloon functions. The RE/MAX balloon will visit more than 40 schools this spring in northern Illinois.

The program at St. Margaret, which has 215 students, is scheduled for April 23, and will begin at 1 p.m. At Whistler, the program will be presented twice on the morning of April 27 starting at 9 a.m. to accommodate all 440 students.

In both locations, the program will begin in the school gymnasium, where the 75-foot-tall balloon envelope will be inflated with cold air, permitting students to walk inside it. The presentation will conclude outdoors with a demonstration of how the balloon basket and burners operate.
