ELGIN, Ill., May 18, 2010 -- The RE/MAX metro Chicago real estate network has announced that the RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon and its crew will visit Hiawatha Elementary School, 6539 W. 26th St., Berwyn, Ill., on May 27, to present an interactive educational program developed by the RE/MAX network.
The students at Hiawatha Elementary will learn about various aspects of ballooning, including its history and the scientific principles involved, and they will see a demonstration on how the balloon functions. The RE/MAX balloon will visit more than 40 schools this spring in northern Illinois.
The program will be presented twice, at 9 and 10 a.m., in the school gymnasium to accommodate all 400 students. The 75-foot-tall balloon envelope will be inflated with cold air, permitting students to walk inside it. The presentation then will conclude outdoors with a demonstration of how the balloon basket and burners operate.
