Connie Scott was presented with the Rising Star Award, which goes to newly licensed agents who have generated a high level of sales. Scott grew up in nearby Barrington, Ill., and embarked on a full-time real estate career after the youngest of her three children entered college. She and her husband currently reside in Hawthorne Woods, Ill.
Scott reports that she worked primarily with first-time buyers and investors, both of whom were drawn to the housing market by attractive prices and low mortgage rates.
“As a long-time homeowner and someone who had done a bit of real estate investing on my own before getting my license, I could relate quite well to both groups of buyers,” Scott said.
Basel Tarabein, broker/owner of RE/MAX At Home, was saluted for leading the sales team that ranked No. 1 in the network for 2009 commercial property sales. Each year, the network gives special recognition to its Top 3 commercial agents and Top 3 commercial teams, as well as its Top 20 residential agents and Top 20 residential teams. A team involves the combined efforts of two or more licensed agents.
The third RE/MAX At Home agent honored by RE/MAX Northern Illinois was Adam Halawi. His work arranging the sale of a newly constructed gas station to a real estate investor generated the single largest commercial commission earned by any agent in the network last year.
