Regional Director Jim Merrion congratulates Broker/Owners Gary Aver and |
“We felt this was a great opportunity to acquire an office that was already doing well and take it to the next level of success,” said Aver, who will serve as managing broker and has nearly 20 years of experience in real estate. “Luigui and I have an extremely complementary set of skills, with my background in managing real estate offices and his skills in finance, computers and Internet marketing.”
Aver, a resident of Vernon Hills, Ill., joined RE/MAX in 2000 and opened his own office, RE/MAX Advanced, in Deerfield, Ill., in 2003. That office merged with RE/MAX United in 2008. Corral worked in financial marketing and computer programming until starting his real estate career in 2007. The next year he won the RE/MAX Rising Star Award as the top first-year agent in the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network. He currently lives in Round Lake, Ill.
Their newly relocated RE/MAX United office initially will be home to 24 agents and a two-person support staff.
According to Aver and Corral, the focus of their efforts going forward will be the Internet.
“So much of the process of finding and buying real estate, especially for younger buyers and sellers, has migrated to the Internet over the course of the last decade that the industry has taken on an entirely new shape,” said Corral.
“I’ve been able to use my computer skills to build a strong personal business based on the Internet market, and now, working with Gary, I see a way to utilize what I’ve learned in a broader context by helping all the agents in our office. What’s especially nice is that the entire RE/MAX network shares that appreciation for the central role of technology in delivering client service, so we feel like we are very much at home with RE/MAX.”
The new 2,000-square-foot office is designed to accommodate agents who work primarily from home or their vehicles but use the office for client meetings, professional education and marketing.
“We are creating a platform focused on technology because it delivers the tools that let agents maximize their productivity,” said Aver. “The real estate market has endured several difficult years, but I’m confident the worst is behind us. The current market is considerably stronger than it was even six months ago, so we feel as if this was the perfect time to step into an ownership role and benefit from the market rebound that will unfold over the next three to five years.”
