RE/MAX Northern Illinois Real Estate Network Honors Aurora’s John McEnroe

John McEnroe

ELGIN, Ill., June 3, 2010 -- John McEnroe, broker/owner of RE/MAX Town and Country, 1128 Prairie St., Aurora, Ill., was recently presented with the prestigious “Above the Crowd!®” Award by the RE/MAX Northern Illinois real estate network.

The award is given to affiliates who have made an outstanding contribution to the RE/MAX network. McEnroe was one of three affiliates to receive the award this year.

McEnroe has been a leader in the northern Illinois real estate industry since 1969 and was the founder of RE/MAX Town and Country. Even after selling the office in 2005, he continued in the role of office manager. Last year, when the company that owned the office decided to leave the brokerage business, McEnroe, then 63, stepped in to repurchase the office even though he had been looking forward to winding down his real estate career.
His decision assured a smooth transition for his agents and helped RE/MAX retain its leading market share in Aurora, which is Illinois’ second largest city. RE/MAX agents accounted for 23.2 percent of listed homes sold in Aurora last year.
