The balloon crew will introduce the 200 students at Green Garden Elementary to various aspects of ballooning, including its history and the scientific principles involved, and the students will see a demonstration on how the balloon functions. The RE/MAX balloon has visited more than 50 schools this year in northern Illinois.
The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. outdoors on the school grounds, weather permitting, but can be moved indoors if required. The balloon envelope will be inflated with hot air to its full 75-foot height if the program is held outdoors. When the program is presented indoors, the envelope is partially inflated with cool air and students have the opportunity to walk inside it.
