Jan. 25 Visit to Luther Schilling Elementary School in Homer Glen is First 2011 Stop for RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon

ELGIN, Ill., Jan. 13, 2011 -- The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon Team has scheduled its first school visit of 2011 at the Luther J. Schilling Elementary School, 16025 Cedar Road, Homer Glen, Ill., on Jan. 25 in order to present an interactive educational program developed and sponsored by the RE/MAX metro Chicago real estate network.

The balloon crew will introduce the 300 students at Luther Schilling to various aspects of ballooning, including its history and the scientific principles involved, and the students will see a demonstration on how the balloon functions. The RE/MAX balloon visited more than 50 schools across northern Illinois during 2010.

The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the school gymnasium. As part-of an hour-long presentation, the 75-foot-tall balloon envelope will be inflated with cold air, permitting students to walk inside it. The program then will conclude outdoors with a demonstration of how the balloon basket and burners operate.
