ELGIN, Ill., April 5, 2011 -- RE/MAX Partners of Berwyn, Ill., reached a significant milestone this year: 2011 marks the 25th year that the Chicago real estate brokerage has been affiliated with the RE/MAX Northern Illinois.
Al Snyder, broker/owner of the firm located at 6420 W. Cermak Road, said the decision to affiliate with RE/MAX a quarter of a century ago was an easy one.
“That was the thing to do at the time,” Snyder recalls. “A lot of real estate companies back then were franchising. RE/MAX had the 100-percent commission concept that was attracting full-time real estate professionals. I wanted to work exclusively with full-time professionals. RE/MAX offered the best opportunity in the marketplace for that.”
Since making his decision, Snyder says, he’s never looked back. Working with RE/MAX Northern Illinois has allowed him to steadily build his brokerage. Today, RE/MAX Partners boasts 24 agents. The office also benefits from a full-time manager, Peter Steinhagen, who runs the day-to-day aspects of the firm.
This allows Snyder to continue selling real estate, something he says he doesn’t want to give up. After all, Snyder has been helping people buy and sell homes for 35 years now.
“I enjoy helping people make some of the most important decisions of their lives,” Snyder said. “I like helping them purchase homes. That has always been enjoyable to me. I enjoy the challenge of it, too. Every day is a new challenge. You’re always learning and always growing. No two days are ever alike in this business.”
Snyder said he also appreciates the support that RE/MAX Northern Illinois has provided him and his brokerage. The network, for instance, regularly brings in the real estate industry’s top trainers and speakers. These professionals have been invaluable assets to both the veteran and new agents at RE/MAX Partners, Snyder said.
For his part, Snyder isn’t looking to end his affiliation with RE/MAX Northern Illinois any time soon, and he’s looking forward to his next day at work. After all, there’s no telling what he’ll encounter.
“No two real estate transactions are alike,” Snyder said. “There are always opportunities on a daily basis to learn something new.”
