RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon to Visit Westfield Middle School in Bloomingdale on May 26

ELGIN, Ill., May 16, 2011 -- The RE/MAX Hot Air Balloon will visit Westfield Middle School, 149 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale, Ill., on May 26, where the balloon crew will present an interactive educational program developed and sponsored by the RE/MAX metro Chicago real estate network.

In the audience will be the 175 students at Westfield, who will learn about various aspects of ballooning, including its history and the scientific principles involved, and they will see a demonstration on how the balloon functions. The RE/MAX balloon and its crew are expected to make nearly 100 presentations this year in northern Illinois.

The program will be presented at 9 a.m. in the school gymnasium. The 75-foot-tall balloon envelope will be inflated with cold air, permitting students to walk inside it. The presentation then will conclude outdoors with a demonstration of how the balloon basket and burners operate.
